During air defence excercise, Squad Commander Lao Mei gives a boasting speech. He keeps on drilling the three stooges in his squad, and somehow they turn around. They choose to help Xu Sanduo with his road, instead of playing endless games of cards. They even add something of their own to the road.
In light of their achivement, Lao Mei thinks deeply about his life in the Army. He does not see himself as a true soldier anymore and is thinking abour retirement. But, there is something else to be worried about, when a call comes down from regimental HQ...
