The Oscar Wilde of indie-rock, Steven Patrick Morrissey was born in 1959 near Manchester, England. The sophisticated crooner%27s parents were first generation, working class Irish Catholic immigrants. In between leaving school and starting the fabulous and successful indie band the Smiths, Morrissey created two fanzines, one for the New York Dolls and the other for James Dean. His solo career has been a rocky but logical extension of the Smiths, who disbanded in 1987 after a falling out between Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr. The wide popularity that the gay icon holds among Hispanic teens is testament to his music%27s strong, cross-cultural powers.

Special box set edition to celebrate the EMI 100th anniversary. 8 bonus tracks. Track 16 recorded live in Holland.
